OH MELBOURNE WE LOVE YOU

Well, we arrived home in Chch midnight Wednesday & I have to say, Melbourne was certainly milder with their winter temps than us! Lovely weather to wander the streets, browsing the many interesting shops...........the very first thing that struck us was - CHANDELIER ENVY!!! It seems that every outing we spotted gorgeous chandeliers of various sizes, colours & amount of sparkle.

Here are just a few for now to feast your eyes on........once we get back into the routine we'll post some more eye-candy.

MY FAVOURITE CAT " BRIDGEY"....... SHE LOVES THE FIRE AND AS THE WEATHER WAS SO COLD YESTERDAY, I HAD 3 FIRES GOING. I,M HOPING WHEN WE GO TO MELBOURNE THIS WEEK THAT IT WILL BE A LITTLE WARMER THAN HERE. IF NOT WE WILL SHOP ETC., SO WE WON,T NOTICE IT. ALL OF THE BARN GIRLS ARE GOING AND ALL TREASURES WILL BE PUT ON OUR ONLINE SHOP WHEN WE RETURN. TILL THEN, KEEP WARM. NOELINE.

LOVE VINTAGE WHITE WICKER

This was my wee project last Saturday whilst in The Barn; I decided this vintage white wicker vanity set needed "pretty-ing"! So, from plain Jane to pretty Rosy.....

IKEA, HERE I COME!

Here is a before & after of a funny old chair I purchased on Trade Me for $1.00.....after removing the nasty dust-laden orange moquette fabric I recovered it in my upholstery class in the funkiest Ikea black patterned fabric I bought last time I was in Australia.

I've not seen anything in NZ yet that rivals the Ikea textiles so am resigned to the fact I'll be paying excess baggage when we visit the big yellow Melbourne store next week, YAY.
