NO PHOTOS TODAY AS GOODNESS KNOWS WHERE THE DAY HAS GONE. i DID HAVE A WALK AROUND THE GARDEN AND HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO WET. MY DRY POND IS A REAL POND AT PRESENT SO WILL GO AND TAKE SOME PHOTOS TOMORROW, INCLUDING TAKING SOME OF THE SPRING FLOWERS THAT ARE STARTING TO COME INTO BLOOM. I WAS MEANT TO GO TO VISIT DEAR VANESSA[ TWO SQUIRRELS] TODAY BUT ALAS NEVER HAD ENOUGH TIME BUT HOPEFULLY WILL CATCH UP WITH HER TOMORROW. AFTER SO MUCH SADNESS AND UPHEAVAL IN THEIR LIVES THEY HAVE TAKEN THE PLUNGE, SOLD UP AND HEAD OFF NEXT WEEK ON A TIKI TOUR OF NZ. I ASKED HER IF SHE HAD HEARD OF A MULTI STORIED CAMPERVAN AS I CANNOT IMAGINE VANESSA NOT STOPPING AT EVERY OPSHOP AND KEEPING UP WITH HER COLLECTING. I TRULY ENVY THEM AND WISH THEM WELL. READING HER BLOG OF THEIR TRAVELS WILL BE ENTHRALLING. MY BEST WISHES AND SAFE TRAVEL TO THEM BOTH.
A VERY PRODUCTIVE DAY WAS HAD ON WEDNESDAY AND WITH MOTHER HERE TO HELP, I WILL HAVE A GOOD SUPPLY OF CUSHION COVERS ,ETC.THESE ARE MADE FROM VINTAGE WOOL BLANKETS AND PROVING VERY POPULAR IN THE BARN.

MY DEAR MOTHER....nearly 90.

My dear mum who is staying here while recovering from a broken hip.Mum will be 90 in April but looks about 70 and not many wrinkles, lucky her. With all this wet weather that Canterbury is having I have been doing some sewing projects for The Barn. Mum was a sample machinist during her working years and has been doing some sewing for me as she is feeling much better and it helps pass the time.Got a couple of sewing tips from her today which will give a better finish to my cushion covers.
Mum was also a very good knitter and always had something on the needles and never did we see her just sitting at night but it would be knitting or sewing , never an idle moment.
