LATEST UPDATE....

Yes,I know that I have been slack with my posting but there has been so much to be done and this took a back seat .Here is a little of what is going on..... The chalk paint is amazing and I,ve been very busy painting lots of stuff to stock The Barn and also to get plenty of backup stock for while I,m away. Here are some photos...
My D.I.Y apprentice, who has done a great job and saved me so much time. However,he wishes to remain anon.

The white cupboard, soft turquoise table and the white oblong coffee table have had vintage pressed tin put on the top and I have painted them.I have left the old chippy paint underneath and they look so good.

There is also crosses, large hearts ,smaller hearts and flying ducks... also with the pressed tin on them.I am finishing doing the display in The Barn tomorrow and will put the photo up then.

Another project just finished.... a very girlie, aple soft pink bedroom dresser, with vintage, floral sanderson wallpaper.

TILI JARS.... These are perfect for gifts and there is so much that you can use these for.

CHALK PAINT...... SO EASY AND GREAT COVERAGE.

Chalk Paint..... a very simple DIY recipe and perfect for home projects.  I am putting a vintage pressed tin top on the duck egg blue table and this will be hopefully in The Barn, next weekend and the old stool has been painted in a very soft pinkchalk paint and I will put an edging on and it also should be available at the weekend as well.
These two tables have been painted today with a white chalk paint and the oblong one is also getting a vintage piece of pressed tin on top as well. Pressed tin is an amazing decor item and I have a lot so watch this blog as I will put the new stock up as it is completed and becomes available.

These three furniture pieces are the work of Sarah, who works in The Barn on Saturday, and is very, very good at rejuvenating furniture.

CHALK PAINT..

Sorry but no photos tonight as for some reason my photos aren,t downloading off my camera but I,ll get it sorted tomorrow. That will only happen after I have mixed up my chalk paint which is so exciting and sooooo much cheaper than the designer paint. After much research it seems that your own mix is great for all the vintage, shabby chic painting projects that you want to do.It also means you can have your personal colour mixes and this always makes your project so unique.Watch for the photos.
Till tomorrow, take care. Noeline.

ELLERSLIE FLOWER SHOW.

MAGGIE BARRY AND DEAR RUDD.... GARDEN EXPERTS AND FROM THE GOOD OLD DAYS WHEN WE HAD GREAT GARDEN SHOWS WITH LOTS OF FLOWERS/VEGES,ETC.WHEN I WENT THROUGH MY PHOTOS FROM THIS LATEST SHOW ,I WAS SO SAD AS THERE IS VERY FEW FLOWER PICS AND THAT IS BECAUSE THERE WAS SUCH A LACK OF THEM.WHERE ARE ALL THE PLANT NURSERIES THAT USE TO EXHIBIT,CAUSING US TO MAKE NUMEROUS TRIPS BACK TO THE PARCEL MINDING TENT AND THE AMAZING DISPLAYS THAT ALL THE LOCAL GARDEN CLUBS PUT IN.........THEY,RE GONE BECAUSE THE PRICES ARE WAY TO EXPENSIVE. THEY NEED TO DO SOME SERIOUS RETHINK AND ENCOURAGE PLANT FOLK BACK,SUPPLIERS AND BUYERS AND MAKE IT A FLOWER SHOW . IF THERE ISN,T ENOUGH FLOWERS AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR I SUGGEST GOING BACK TO LABOUR WEEKEND WHEN CANTERBURY GARDENS ARE FANTASTIC . WOW, WHAT A RAVE BUT AFTER READING THIS AND REALISING MOST PEOPLE DON,T KNOW ABOUT MY BLOG I AM OFF TO WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS.
NEW ZEALAND GARDENER SITE. A GREAT MAG AND I NEVER MISS AN ISSUE.

A MIX OF LIFE LATELY.

DEAR MUM WAS UP FOR A FEW DAYS AND THIS PHOTO IS WITH BEV,WHO,S MUM WORKED WITH MUM MANY, MANY YEARS BACK AN THEY STILL ARE BEST FRIENDS.
I LOVED THIS SET WHEN I SAW IT WHEN ON THE GOLD COAST AND AS ALWAYS JUST HAD TO HAVE IT.QUITE VINTAGE LOOKING.
LILLIES.... GORGEOUS AREN,T THEY.
A DOUBLE LILY... VERY SWEET AND UNUSUAL.

BREAKING NEWS... THE BARN REOPENED.

Hi, Things are going through a huge change and one of them is to employ 1, maybe 2 ladies to work in The Barn and this morning I had to decide from 5 applicants. This was a very hard job as they all knew The Barn and most have shopped here. I,ve decided on 2 and will call them tonight and tell them. Next week I,ll introduce them to you as they will be an important part in the business.I have to get the staff organised as !!!!!!!!!! I am off on the 19 May for 9 weeks to England and Europe. It is so exciting and I will do a little blog each night to keep you up with the holiday. For you who know me, of course garden visits are a must and I already have my tickets for THE CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW, CHAMPAGNE TEA FOR TWO to HIGHGROVE ( Prince Charles garden ). Also the tickets to ALTHORP, the Spencer family home with the island where Princess Diana is buried. There is so much more to say but will drip feed it. So as you can imagine I have to have staff organised for the cattery, The Barn and the gardener to keep everything looking great. Garden visits are increasing and so it makes sense to have some help keeping it right and I must say it has been very hard to let go a little and take on these extra people but life is very short and we are NEVER promised tomorrow.
